Single items or a whole room
The most common call is one or two big pieces: a couch being replaced, a mattress after a new one arrives, a dresser nobody wants. Larger jobs, like furnishing a rental or clearing a basement rec room, are quoted the same way, by how much truck space it all takes.
Why mattresses cost extra almost everywhere
Mattresses and box springs carry a separate disposal fee at County of Simcoe sites, $25 each in 2026, because they're bulky and hard to process. That fee is part of any honest mattress removal price, whether you haul it yourself or hire someone. Ask for a quote that shows what's included.
Awkward pieces and tight spaces
Sleeper sofas, sectionals and old solid-wood furniture are heavy and don't always fit through doors the way they came in. Tell us if a piece is on an upper floor, down narrow stairs, or was assembled in the room, so the right number of people show up.
Donation
If your furniture is in good shape and you'd like it donated rather than scrapped, say so on the form. Donation depends on condition and on what local charities are accepting at the time.
Frequently asked questions
Can you take a mattress with bed bugs?
Mention it on the form. It can usually be removed if it's wrapped and sealed, but it can't be donated.
Do I need to take the furniture apart?
No. If something has to be disassembled to fit through a doorway, the crew handles it.
How much does it cost to remove one couch?
Single items are priced individually. Send a photo and you'll get a firm number before pickup.
