How Junk Removal Is Priced
No surprise charges. Here's what goes into a junk removal price, and the public disposal fees that apply to everyone.
- Price before we lift
- Photo quotes
- We do the carrying
- No bin rental needed
What a quote includes
- Volume. How much of the truck your items fill. A single chair and a full basement are at opposite ends.
- Weight. Very heavy materials, like concrete, brick and shingles, can be priced by weight.
- Item disposal fees. Some items cost money to dispose of no matter who hauls them (see below).
- Access and labour. Long carries, stairs, disassembly or cutting (hot tubs, sheds) take more time.
You'll get the price before anything is loaded. A photo or a list on the quote form is usually enough.

Ways to lower your price
- Bundle everything into one pickup instead of several small ones.
- Bag loose clutter ahead of time.
- Have items accessible: a clear path out of the basement or garage saves labour.
- Take hazardous items (paint, chemicals) to the County's free HHW depot yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum charge?
Most junk removal crews have a minimum for small pickups. You'll be told up front if it applies to your job.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes from photos or a description are free.
Will the price change on the day?
Only if the job is different from what was described, for example more items than in the photos. If that happens, you'll be told before the extra is loaded.
